Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
The West Bengal Assembly's budget session will begin on February 10, with Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya scheduled to present the state budget on February 12. The session will be conducted under the chairmanship of Speaker Biman Banerjee. As per official sources, the first phase of the session will continue until February 19. The second phase is set to resume on March 10, though the exact duration has not been finalized.
An all-party meeting was held before the budget session to discuss legislative proceedings. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was invited but did not attend. However, ISF leader Nawsad Siddique participated in the meeting. No official statement has been issued by BJP regarding its absence.
The budget presentation will include details of revenue generation, sector-wise allocations, expenditure plans, and financial policies for the upcoming fiscal year. The session will also include supplementary demand discussions, financial reviews of previous allocations, and deliberations on policy implementations.
